Workshop Description

Dive into the world of game design and programming with Lassonde School of Engineering's k2i academy! Learn about the role of coding and electronics in the game industry today. In this workshop we will focus on designing an interactive game. Using the engineering design process, the participants will develop and test their developed game. Hosted by: Lassonde School of Engineering: • Mohammed Abdulmawjood, Program Coordinator, k2i academy, Lassonde School of Engineering, (Computer Engineering, Class of 2024) • Aleeya Irshad, Undergraduate Mentor, k2i academy, Lassonde School of Engineering (Computer Engineering, Class of 2026) • Sean Billingsley, Director, Design, Recruitment & Admissions, Lassonde School of Engineering Kindergarten to Industry Academy The k2i academy is an innovation sandbox where diverse communities and collaborators connect, engage, and design solutions to systemic barriers to STEM opportunities to transform educational and career pathways for underrepresented youth, including women, non-gender conforming people, Black youth, and Indigenous youth in STEM. k2i academy brings STEM to life by working alongside school boards and community to offer science, engineering, and computer science programming in classrooms with teachers, providing innovative work-integrated learning experiences, and partnering with community organizations to provide unique, hands-on STEM opportunities.
